Monday 3rd-Friday 28th June 2024 Open Monday, Tuesday, Friday 9:30am-2:30pm Wednesday and Thursday 9:30pm-6pm* and by appointment, please email [email protected] *except for 10am-12pm term time Thursdays About the Artist: "Drawing on my earlier experience as an architect and software developer, I use computers to create digital pictures - working with shapes, geometric transformations, materials and lighting. Though my pictures take the form of conventional framed prints, all elements of my compositions are modelled in three dimensions. My commitment to the medium is driven by a fascination with the mathematical patterns that lie at the heart of the natural world and by the belief that, despite their formal method of construction, digital images should be capable of evoking a direct intuitive response. Starting with the challenge of modelling flowers and other natural objects, my first pieces were inspired by traditional Spanish and Dutch still-life painting. Recently I have found myself adopting a more relaxed approach to composition and have started to explore spaces that exist only in the imagination. Each one of my pictures is unique, offered in an edition of one and authenticated by means of a serial number, held in a central register" You can find out more at David's Website |
