Traditional Botanical Drawing & Painting for Advanced Students

Join acclaimed botanical artist, Jenny Brooks, for the second out of 3 terms of traditional botanical drawing and painting.
This term students will be encouraged to work through various assignments; beginning with drawing and painted studies of small plant specimens, then moving on to more complex plant forms.
This will cover additional elements of composition, detail and basic botany, employing more difficult painting techniques, using their growing confidence to organise their own programmes.
Materials
Students are required to bring their own materials which include:
- Pencils
- A set of watercolour paints
- Brushes
- Watercolour paper

Jenny Brooks studied Fine Art and Design at the Bath Academy of Art in Corsham and gained her Art Teachers Certificate at Goldsmiths College, London. After a career teaching art in secondary schools, Jenny has, more recently, been able to return to her own drawing and painting and delivering courses and workshops for adults. She has exhibited at the Royal Miniature Society in London and the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists in Wells, Somerset. She has been a member of The Society of Botanical Artists where she gained a Distinction for her botanical illustrations. Having moved to Dursley in 2022, Jenny is delighted to be bringing Botanical art classes to Kingshill House.
