Meditative Loom Weaving
Wednesday 13th July 1-3pm
The ancient craft of weaving has long been recognised for it's humble practical beauty and meditative qualities while creating gorgeous decorative projects for your home. You can also reflect and relax through the repeating motions of yarn winding over the loom.
You will learn how to warp up a simple wooden loom and the techniques used to add different textures and interest in your wall hanging including Tabby weave, Rya knots and loops, Soumak braid, egyption knots to name a few. You will be shown how to finish your weave, tie everything off on the reverse of your wall hanging and how to attach your dowel ready for hanging.
You will get to use lots of different fibres and wools, also including soft string, Merino and Alpaca wool and strips of fabric.
The cost of this workshop includes the cost of all materials.

Creative Summer School Soiree – Saturday 16th July, 6–8.30pm
At the end of the week, we welcome you to join us for a Summer School Soiree!
Students and tutors will be invited to exhibit their work at the House, enjoy a glass of fizz, and celebrate the variety of crafts made throughout the week. If you would like to exhibit the work that you have created during the Creative Summer School then please let your tutor or the Kingshill House team know. Works will be displayed for the Soiree evening only, and then you are free to take them home or collect them the following week.
