Saturday 11th June 10am-1pm
Create your very own statement polymer clay earrings on this fun workshop! You'll learn the basics of how to condition, bake and assemble the clay to create beautiful and unique designs which you can proudly wear and show off to your friends and family or even give as gifts!
By the end of the workshop, you will likely have made up to 3 to 5 pairs to take away with you and the hands-on experience to continue working with polymer clay at home.
About the day
Baking and assembling your jewellery will all be done within the workshop time, which will include a Q&A session with your tutor. You may want to bring a pen and paper if you wish to make any notes. An apron is also handy.
This is an environmentally-conscious workshop; all unused clay is kept and recycled into new projects; no clay is ever thrown away. Items used to condition, cut, and create clay is cleaned to reuse.
About your tutor
Katherine Lewis is a jewellery designer and maker who grew up immersed in the Welsh countryside, finding any excuse to be involved with pottery, art and design.
Katherine launched Moon and Made in Spring 2020, the month after the national lockdown was announced. It has been quite the rollercoaster but making 'wearable art’ has been a large part of what’s kept her motivated through these crazy times.
She predominantly works with polymer clay and resin, but is a bit of a magpie and gets easily excited about working with new materials and exploring new ideas. Every time Katherine makes a piece of jewellery, it is made with a little spark of joy and that same excited feeling of Katherine at 14, daydreaming of being a designer.
