Introduction to Floristry
5 week course stating Tuesday 14th June
6.15pm-8.15pm
Join popular local florist Eve Squire from Daisy Belle Floral Design on this creative course which will serve as an insightful introduction into the world of floristry.
It's perfect for beginners to learn about various aspects of creating with flowers. You will gain confidence working with them, learning different names, varieties and properties of an array of different flowers, ranging from blowsy, cottage garden style arrangements to modern tropical blooms.
Learn how to create 5 different arrangements, using different mediums and forms, from handtied bouquets, wiring techniques and arrangements in foam and chicken wire.
You will leave the five week course with a wealth of knowledge and experience which you can build upon as you wish.
Working with flowers is a unique way to get creative, working with nature is extremely relaxing and therapeutic and there is so much more than meets the eye in the craft of floristry.
Each week will focus on a different creation:
- A handtied aqua bouquet
- A petite basket arrangement
- A modern front facing container arrangement
- Buttonhole & corsage
- A foam-free chicken wire arrangement
About your Tutor
Eve Squire lives and works as a florist in Dursley and has been immersed in the colourful world of floristry for over 8 years, after completing her level 3 certificate in floristry at Bridgwater College.
Eve has been running her own local floristry business, Daisy Belle Floral Design, since 2017, which was awarded “Gloucestershire’s Best Florist” in 2018.
Every day Eve is lucky enough to embrace her passion and get creative with different textures, shapes, colours and scents that flowers have to offer. She loves nothing more than getting to share her love of flowers with others and helping people unleash their inner florist!
