An Evening of James Taylor
An Evening of James Taylor 2nd May- 7.30pm
James Taylor is the encapsulation of the best of American songwriting.
His music has touched millions worldwide over his ongoing 55 year
strong career and his music still stands up to the test of time.
‘How Sweet It Is’ focuses more on Taylor’s early songwriting career,
featuring much loved songs, such as ‘Sweet Baby James’, ‘Something
In The Way She Moves’, ‘Fire and Rain’ but also includes more recent
classics like the evocative ‘Frozen Man’. Vernon James performs the
songs true to how they were written and in the spirit of James Taylor
himself, with a soulful lilt. During this two hour show, you will be taken
on journey back to simpler times and happily lose yourself in the dulcet
tones and sweet melodies of the finest songs written in the last half a
century.
I have just seen Vernon James perform 'How Sweet It Is - The James Taylor
Songbook' in West Devon. Vernon's voice was quite exceptional - he captured the very
essence of James Taylor. His acoustic guitar playing was beyond excellent - every
nuance portrayed with great skill. This young man is extremely talented, and his
performance was insightful, tender and heartfelt - the whole audience was captivated.
With great integrity and knowing, Vernon has created a performance concert which
he should be very proud of. The whole evening felt like a special gift, and Vernon
deserves every success.
Just enjoyed a brilliant evening with Vernon in Wotton under edge. His celebration of
James Taylor and Carole King’s songs was genuine skilfully played and sung My wife
thought his voice was better than James Taylor !! Do take up any opportunity to hear
him.
Just seen this guy in Lichfield. One of the best gigs I've ever been to and I've been to
many! Thank you so much.
Watched the concert in Holyhead yesterday. Brilliant! No effects just guitar, vocal and
lots of talent. Come back to Holyhead soon and I'll bring all my friends!
