Zubek & Pentz Piazzolla Duo
On the centenary of Astor Piazzolla's birth, Piotr Zubek and Janek Pentz have rediscovered the forgotten songs of this Argentinian composer, bandoneon virtuoso, and tango nuevo pioneer.
Innovative, contemporary arrangements combine the finesse of jazz vocal improvisation with the unique sound of an acoustic fingerstyle guitar.
In this musical version, these songs take on a completely new sound - they prove that music knows no continents or borders. The artists bring to the performance their own Slavic sensitivity, often playing with sound, improvising, "winking" at the audience.
About the artists:
Piotr Zubek - vocalist, lyricist, composer, actor, radio presenter. Winner of over 300 awards at festivals all over Poland.
Janek Pentz - fingerstyle guitarist and composer. He has performed with such stars as Tommy Emmanuel, Andy McKee, and collaborated with many excellent artists. He has given concerts in Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Finland, Latvia, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Vatican.
