Remnants & Reclamation - monthly creative projects
28th April, 26th May, 23rd June, 21st July
10am – 1pm
Join Anna Marshall, Peace & Craft, for this special, once-a-month, Remnants & Reclamation workshop.
You will be using leftover, reclaimed, salvaged and rescued textiles and other inspiring sustainable materials.
These incredibly friendly, gentle paced, relaxed creative sessions are perfect for all abilities. Each month will be focused on a guided project with prepared supplies, plus you will have the opportunity to enhance your project and make it your own with extra materials from Anna's amazing scraps buffet.
Dates and creative projects:
- Friday 28 April: Bitesize textile art explorations - miniature artworks to turn into cards, decorations or part of a sampler collection, or work towards a larger display piece. An ideal introduction to these sessions if you think you might like to attend regularly.
- Friday 26 May: Needlebooks and miniature notebooks - handcrafted additions for your sewing/craft kit in your favourite colour palettes. Ideal for showcasing favourite stitches or embellishments. Also make really lovely gifts.
- Friday 23 June: Textile landscapes and seascapes - small but detailed handcrafted pieces, perfect for mounting to display or gift. Ideal for acknowledging a special place.
- Friday 21 July: Textile leaf sprays - sew and no-sew variations to create sprays of beautiful everlasting fabric leaves. These make great gifts and beautiful home decor.
All materials are provided. Each participant will receive a pre–prepared kit designed by Anna.
Book for an individual workshop (£30 each) or block book all 4 (£100).
Anna Marshall is a long term multi-discipline crafter and hosts her Peace&Craft workshops around the Cotswolds and online. Growing up in a family of lots of different handcrafters and inheriting a pre-disposition for using what you have, Anna has tried most crafts, enjoyed the majority, favoured & practiced several and collected skills, techniques & inspirations along the way to create her own blended style of stitching, snipping, sticking and sketching.
After an eclectic career path, Anna is now a parent of primary age twins and works out of her home studio in South Gloucestershire on various creative endeavours, including selling her own handmade products and running regular creative sessions for a charity supporting new mothers facing post-natal challenges as well as her own scrapcrafting workshops.
Anna works alongside participants for a relaxed, inspirationally creative environment. Her simple & satisfying crafting sessions are accessible for all abilities and often offer demonstrations, techniques & examples rather than step by step projects. Anna will always encourage recycling, reclamation, 'make do and mend' and using every scrap, alongside helping her students find peace & self-care through a focus on the process over results.
Anna runs a weekly Mindful Scrap Crafting course every Wednesday at Kingshill House Creative Centre.
