Foundation Calligraphy Course
6 week course - Monday 15 May
10:30am-12:30pm
Edward Johnston’s Foundation Hand Calligraphy
Interested in lettering and Calligraphy? Get excited by stationery? Then this new course is for you.
Led by local Calligraphy Artist, Adele Dark, this course will be a gentle introduction to the art and craft of Calligraphy.
You will learn about the beautiful Foundation Hand lower case lettering designed by the famous lettering artist Edward Johnston, the godfather of the Western Calligraphy movement and famous for his London Underground font. This lower case lettering works beautifully with the historic Roman Capitals.
You will get creative with ink, square edged nib pens and paper. You'll fall in love with this beautiful, historical art and perhaps you will continue a personal journey of discovery and begin to develop skills to be able to design their own cards, posters and artwork.
All materials are included.
Monday 15 May - 26 June (excluding Monday 29 June), 10:30am-12:30pm
Adele, a Fine Art Printmaking graduate from Brighton University and a qualified Teacher of both Primary, Secondary and Adults brings a wide range of skills and experience of working with all ages to her workshops.
