Come and join in this drawing class with Ruth. This session provides children and their parents/ carers with the opportunity to draw plants from real life.
We will discuss tips for drawing from observation and get to try out different mark making with pens and water. All children and adults use the same initial stimulus and teaching points but are then encouraged to be creative and give their own individual responses.
Suitable for 5-11 years olds. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There will be plenty of tea and coffee, and space to sit and relax whilst your young person takes part in the workshop. Ticket includes the accompanying adult.
Ruth Batham is an experienced primary school teacher and artist. She has led Art across two schools for over 7 years and believes high quality art sessions should be for everyone. She has her own painting practice and actively searches for new ideas to try out with students.
She recently participated in the TurpsOff-Site Programme to develop her own Art skills and is a member of the Freelands Foundation Artisteacher Network. She has worked in a variety of settings including: Tate Modern, Open Age Ladbroke Grove, Islington Museum and primary schools.
Her drawing clubs provide a fun, pro-active environment for children to develop their love of drawing. Each session has a different technical focus and the children explore a range of media.
