My work is a mixture of observational photography, abstraction and using the camera to bend the way we naturally see. I love the way photography has the power to elevate the mundane and highlight the ordinary. It allows us to tell stories, understand feelings and to see things differently. Rachael Bott Rolling hills, fields, grasses, hedgerows and flowers have been a constant in my life. My watercolour paintings evoke that childhood feeling of viewing the world from ground level through colourful and playful compositions. I hope to create work that is uplifting and captures the spirit of nature rather than a completely accurate representation of the subject. Marisa Tommasini My Artwork draws from the beauty in nature that surrounds us. Some of my artwork features plants considered ‘weeds” instead of wildflowers. They are the often overlooked and misunderstood plants, much like humans. Those that are not regarded as beautiful are sometimes ignored in our society. |
